DBT

Adult

Anomaly Therapy Services PLLC offers structured therapy for adults struggling with: substance abuse, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, and more.

This program works from a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) framework in a form of individual therapy, DBT skills training, phone consultation, and family support for patients, 19 years and older. DBT focuses on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Phone coaching for patients between sessions

  • Weekly individual reviews of progress towards therapeutic goals

  • Couples and Family education, support and skills group

  • Close coordination of care with treatment team

Parents and/or sponsors of financially dependent adults are required to attend skills group or complete a DBT intensive workshop. We have found that when family members incorporate DBT skills, they develop a deeper understanding of what patients are working towards. In addition, they report emotional benefits from integrating DBT skills into their lives. Instead of reacting or overreacting to stressful events in their lives participants can appreciate learning and applying DBT skills to assist them in resolving stressful situations.
